Kings Way LifeCare Alliance oversees two Nursing Homes in the Greater Saint John area - Kennebec Manor in Saint John and Kings Way Care Centre in Quispamsis.
Kings Way Care Centre
The Kings Way Care Centre opened its doors February 14, 2008 in the small town of Quispamsis, New Brunswick. The idea of a nursing home in the Valley originated in 2000 from a man named Murray Driscoll. Murray and many individuals in the Quispamsis community strongly felt that people who required nursing home care should be able to be cared for in their own community. After seeking sponsorships from many groups, The Kings Way Assembly (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) took on this task and sponsored the home as an important part of their ministry within the community. “We dedicate ourselves to be Christ’s hands in caring for our elderly and disabled friends”.
Once the Kings Way Assembly donated the land, the designing phases began. As this was the first home to be built in over 20 years, a few years were spent researching current designs and getting approval from government to obtain a license to operate. In 2006, government approval was received and construction started later that year with completion in January 2008. The new design standards for new homes in the province are now built on the basis of the initial design.
Throughout the past years our vision has included not only providing quality care to meet the needs of those living here but also providing opportunities for those individuals to have purpose and meaning in their lives.
